Mies
It is a Nats Nus dance company production directed by the Catalan choreographer Toni Mira.
The piece is inspired by the German architect Mies van der Rohe, an important representative of 20th-century architecture and the Bauhaus. For this piece, I have designed interactive scenes based on minimalist structures, considering the usual shape, movement, and textures in the architect’s style.
We have been investigating different approaches and relationships between technology and movement for three months, always focused on the architectural concept. I have designed the visual and sound composition in Max/Msp/Jitter.
Premiere June 2007 at the National Theater of Catalonia.
